DON’T LAUGH AT WHAT JESUS DIED FOR
Today, we are moving to series six of our episodes: When Sin Becomes a Joke.
“Fools mock sin [but sin mocks the fools]…” — Proverbs 14:9 (AMP)
We’ve seen how easily culture can make sin look normal. But this series isn’t about pointing fingers.
It starts with us.
Sometimes we laugh about what we secretly struggle with.
We post: “Never again!” Then return to the same thing at 11:47pm.
We delete the message. Clear the search history. Unfollow the account. But you can delete the evidence without dealing with the heart behind it.
That’s why we need grace. Jesus didn’t die because sin was harmless. He died because sin was serious.
And He didn’t leave us without a way back.
“If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.” — 1 John 1:9 (NKJV)
You can clear your browser history.
You can’t clear your heart history.
But God can cleanse what you cannot fix yourself.
Reflection
What if the thing you joke about is the very thing God is asking you to surrender?
You don’t have to pretend you’re perfect. You have to be honest enough to repent.
- Sin is serious.
- Grace is greater.
- Repentance is the response.
“For sin shall not have dominion over you…” — Romans 6:14
Prayer
Father, give me the courage to be honest about my struggles. Help me recognise sin quickly, repent sincerely and walk in the freedom You have given me. Thank You for Your grace that doesn’t leave me where it found me. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
Grace doesn’t excuse sin. It gives you a way out.
