SIN BEGINS SMALL BUT NEVER STAYS SMALL

Still on our series of the anatomy of temptations…i am sure you are getting light from the series.

Sin rarely arrives looking dangerous. Most times, it enters quietly. A “small compromise.” A “harmless habit.” A “private struggle.”

But James warns us that sin grows.

“Then when lust hath conceived, it bringeth forth sin: and sin, when it is finished, bringeth forth death.” – James 1:15 (KJV). What begins as a thought can become an action. What becomes an action can become a habit. *And habits eventually shape destinies.*

Nobody plans to destroy their life in one day. *Destruction usually grows gradually through repeated compromise.*

That is why little sins should never be treated lightly. *A spark may look harmless until an entire building catches fire.*

“A little leaven leaveneth the whole lump.” – Galatians 5:9. The danger with small compromise is that it slowly reduces sensitivity. What once bothered your conscience eventually begins to feel normal.

*Some people say: “It’s just small lie.” Meanwhile the lie already has children and grandchildren. * Sin never stays where it started. It always wants to grow. Kill compromise early. Guard your heart quickly. Run from what weakens you. *Because what is ignored today may control tomorrow.*

Reflection

– What “small” compromise have I been excusing?

– Is my conscience becoming comfortable with what used to trouble me?

Prayer

Father, help me to take sin seriously before it grows. Keep my conscience alive and sensitive. Give me strength to reject compromise early and wisdom to walk in holiness daily. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
